This vintage Harley Davidson t-shirt is a souvenir from the 1999 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held each year in Sturgis, South Dakota and the surrounding Black Hills region. Although this shirt reps Harley-Davidson, the first ever Sturgis Rally held back in 1938 was conceived by a group of Indian Motorcycle riders, who gathered to conduct a series of stunts and races. These bikers were the Jackpine Gypsies motorcycle club, who have remained the owners and operators of the tracks and hillclimb where the rally is held. The Sturgis Rally is one of the most popular motorcycle events in the country, typically attracting around 500,000 people each year. The 1999 event boasted an attendance of 539,475 participants.
