This sweet bright red tee is from the city of Lenexa in Kansas and it commemorates the 9th Annual Great Lenexa Bar B Que Battle which took place in 1990. This annual barbecue contest is an exciting tradition which started back in 1982 with just twelve contestants and twelve judges. Over the years, the contest has grown to attract cooks from all over the country and Governer John Carlin even declared it the official Kansas State Championship. The contest consists of four categories for brisket, pork, pork ribs, and chicken.
