This cool vintage shirt features a portrait of stand up comedian Sam Kinison. The shirt commemorates his second stand up album, Have You Seen Me Lately? released in 1988. Kinison was the son of a Pentecostal preacher, and he attended Pinecrest Bible Training Center in an attempt to emulate his father. He preached from the ages of 17 to 24, although he made little money off his sermons. After Kinison divorced his first wife, he turned his attention to comedy and played off his religious past by often taking satirical and sacrilegious shots at the Bible and Christianity.

Kinison began performing in Houston, Texas at the Comedy Workshop before moving to Los Angeles and attempting to get a job at the Comedy Store. He initially worked as a doorman to the club but later performed alongside and befriended such famous comedians as Robin Williams and Jim Carrey. Kinison’s career took off after he was featured on Rodney Dangerfield’s Ninth Annual Young Comedians Special broadcast on HBO. The following year he also appeared in Dangerfield’s film Back to School.
