This humorous vintage tee reads, “Journalists are an elite type” with a cartoon image of a bird sitting at a typewriter. This tee is sure to make journalists chuckle with its clever pun that makes a play on the name for the typeface used by some typewriters. Also known by its full title, Prestige Elite, Elite was a monospaced typeface that was developed in 1953 for the company IBM. This made it especially popular with the IBM Selectric line of typewriters. Elite and Courier were the two most commonly used typefaces back in the day, but unlike Courier, Elite fell off after the start of the computer age.
